This week is all about soaring. We want to soar as much as possible, if wind allows of course on Parakites, if it’s a little weak sometimes, we take out some bigger high aspect ratio wings and soar around with those. We want to explore some coastlines by flying and driving. The dream would be to soar in Denmark, since it offers so many great spots in allmost all wind-directions except South. But also east is not ideal, since east coast is less sandy and more rocky. That’s why we want to be spontanous and drive to wherever it looks the most promising for this exact week. So alternatives could be; Westcoast of France, Normandie in France, Netherlands, south of GB or also south of Sweden. But there is a 80% chance we will go to Denmark, since it has the most spots and some long dunes to soar along.
In this week, you will learn everything about Parakites and also get to know some 2-Liners if you want to. You have the chance to fly many different wings in different spots and conditions.
This course includes the rent of our wings. We have all sizes Flare Moustaches, some Flare Lines and many C, D and CCC wings to soar in lighter winds. Many of them are modern 2-Liners! We even have some D and CCC wings with kiterisers, they are pretty sick, specially on smaller dunes! We also teach you how to fly those 2-Liners, you will love them! If you have your own Moustache or soaring wing, bring it along, we don’t have each size Moustache 10x.
You must bring your own harness for this course. We recommend you to bring a seatharness and a podharness. You will see why; it’s good fun racing along the Dune in a pod with a 2-Liner 20cm above the sand! We want you to have a harness with a protector! And you also need to have a speedbar for flying the 2-Liners.
You need a Van for this trip. We don’t want to book a Hotel and then sit around for a week because the wind is from the wrong direction. That’s why we do vanlife and chase the wind!
You need to have soaring experience on paragliders and need to be able to kite a wing backwards and forwards blindly. If you haven’t done groundhandling before, book another course with another school pls. But you don’t need to have any experience on a Parakite or on a 2-Liner.
You need to have your own liability insurance for paragliding and parakites. And you must have an accident insurance that covers you when flying paragliders and parakites! We also recommend you to have an insurance that covers the wings you are flying, in case you destroy one of our wings during the week.
We will decide where to go 3-5 days ahead of the course. The course starts on Sunday, so you have time to drive or fly to Denmark on Saturday. Saturday is also the last day we fly, so you have time to drive back. If you want you can book the 2nd week also, where the pilot level is a little higher. After the first week, you will be ready to join the 2nd week.
