The Tandem Intensive Course is a compact, four-day program running from Thursday to Sunday, offered on two dates in January.
Students pay per day, giving flexibility to join the days that suit them. The course runs only with a minimum of 5 students per day.
This course is specifically designed for pilots preparing for the Biplace 1 or Biplace 3 exams, as well as those who want to train for the Biplace Solo qualification. This course is, as the regular Intense course, tailored for Pilots that want to focus on efficient (time and moneywise) and straight forward training , ensuring fast progress. Students can train a full day (obviously dependent on weather), doing as much flights per day as the sunlight and body or mind allows and therefore consolidating knowledge and training process, with direct guidance from a flight instructor who’s working as a professional tandem pilot.
If you don’t want to spend weekends and weekends joining other flight schools just to get your 20 or 30 flights for Biplace 1 or 3, and want to train efficiently, this training might be for you !

We take full flying days at Lenk as an example, training for Biplace 1(min.20 flights)
Previous intensive courses have been highly successful, showing that intensive learning over consecutive days greatly accelerates skill development.

Prerequisites (SHV Requirements)
Before the course, participants must:
* Hold a valid liability insurance with the Swiss Hang Gliding Association (SHV)
* Be registered for the relevant SHV theory exam and have studied the theory questions ( Biplace 3 only )
* Have their own equipment
Tandem-specific requirements:
Biplace 1: You need to have completed:
– Paragliding License since minimum 2 years
– Minimum 200 Flights since obtaining the license
– Safety Course SIV not older than 3 years with an certified SIV Instructor
– Have completed a cross country flight of minimum 50km distance, uploaded to XContest
* Biplace 1: You’ll need to do: 20 supervised tandem flights + 1 instructional tandem flight
Biplace 3: You need to have completed:
– Biplace 1 Licence
– Be 20 years old
– Undergoing the theory test
A liability insurance with the SHV is mandatory. No further insurance is required. Paragliding in Switzerland is not considered high-risk and is covered under standard accident insurance.
A used set of gear is sufficient for learning. As long as the equipment is not outdated or damaged, it is safe for training. We provide advice to find suitable gear and ensure it is correctly set up.
You may buy new equipment from any supplier, but we advise coordination with the school to ensure suitability and safety. Contact us for a good deal
You can either bing a passenger for all the flights or switch roles with a likeminded Pilot as we obviously don’t provide passengers to train with. Which means you have to organize a passenger yourself or join as 2 Pilots and switch per flight or per day.
We`ll decide the evening before where we are going to fly, common flying sites are: Lenk, Mürren, Interlaken, Marbach….
