Our Opinion – S.E.A Wings Speedy Gonzales

The Name says it all; It’s a fast tandem Paraglider. It comes with huge trimmers, to make it really fast. But it looses quit a bit of stability when fully open. We recommand not opening them more then 70% unless it’s absolutly calm (winter) air. It inflates nicely and takes off surprisingly easy. Of course you need to run a little more then with a regular sizes tandem, but nothing crazy. We use the wing for launching or soaring in stronger winds But it’s also good fun to fly along snowy mountain faces on skis. The Speedy Gonzales is not certified, which makes it ilegal in some countrys. It’s not a speedflying tandem, it’s rather a small normal tandem. Don’t expect Go-Kart feeling, it has very long lines. It glides not amazing, but good enough. You can thermal with it as well if not loaded very heavy. We recommand it for either stronger winds, terrain flying or simply for flying with very light passangers. If you live close to a coastel soaring spot, this one is a must have.
Why we have it? There is not a lot of choice of smaller tandemwings out there. Others might perform better, this one does the job well and is amazing cheap. Compared to the Level Wings Speedforce this one is less fast, since it’s bigger and has less roll and longer lines. The Speedforce feels like a speedwing, the Speedy Gonzales like a smaller Paraglider.
