Zoom XB Light
It’s been a while i flew this wing, i haven’t found time to write this earlier. I didn’t fly the XB light for very long, only about 30 min of scratching around on a mountainside. It’s marketed as a Low-B wing and thats what it is, not more not less. I didn’t find anything to complain about it. Collapses are gentle, it’s dampened enough for the class but not too much and it even offer a B/C steering option on the riser. This bridge has quite a lot of pressure, which is normal for this class do. Most low-B wings don’t even offer a bridge. The stallpoint is low and it gets noticably harder bevor the wing stalls.
The wing is made of very light fabric, so it’s quite light and you can pack it up small when needed. The wing reminded me a lot of the Nova Ion 3 light, which was the Swiss-Army-Knife back then. You could use it to learn on, to fly XC and for hike and fly. I think the XB light is very much like this as well. It’s a great all rounder.
What we like
- Easy inflation
- Easy, safe, light
- Well balanced, no weak points
- Great entry level wing
- Collapses are gentle
- Clear stallpoint
Good to know
- Fabric is rather slippery, makes packing more tricky
