Nova Bantam X – First Impression

It has super short lines, which is great for take offs with little space. The short lines however reduce the roll. That’s why the Bantam X feels like flying an A-Glider in small. As soon as you release the braketension in a turn, the wing goes perfectly straight, almost no rolling to the other side. That makes it “boring” to fly. You can’t build up energy with those short lines. Wing overs and barrel rolls are possible, but they are not fun.

The Bantam X is probably the easiest to fly wing in 13 meters. You can slow it down very well, it has a good flare, like the Bantam 2. So if you are looking for a mountain tool to take off anywhere this wing works great. However you still need to run fast, the Bantams are all trimmed fast, so they have a higher trim speed than others, but also make less lift on launch. So you need an extra step or two to get airborn. But if you jump of a cliff each time you won’t feel that:-)

I only consider getting the X if you really plan on doing extrem take offs. Otherwise get the normal Bantam 2, it’s more fun.
