Our Opinion – Flare Proxy
The Flare Proxy is designed for coastal soaring with a parakite. It has very low attachment points and it’s very shaky because of that. It feels more bumpy with the Proxy than with other harnesses. But the low attachment points allow for good weight shift and help you to go fully hands up or to grab the killer mushrooms. Even the L size has lot attachment points, not just the S!
What is also different to many others is that your butt is not lower than your knees. It feels like you are not sitting in it completely sometimes, but thats on purpose. This helps a lot with the transition to stand up or sit down or slide around in the sand. That’s what it’s made for. To let you drag around between sand and sky. It has a small protector, which is not certified. It’s better than nothing, but not a full EN tested protector! The proxy is durable and can take a lot of beating and dragging on the dunes.
It has a small pocket in the back, big enough to bring some snacks and drinks and an extra jacket and a towel. There is also a specific selfi-stick attachment to make cool videos. It works but the stick the harness is missing some stiffness so the camera can still move right or left or come forward and hit your helmet a lot. It should work better if you fill up the pocket with clothes or a towel to make it more stiff.
